Main Character Jiu Jitsu’s Halloween Havoc set for Oct. 19 in Miami

MIAMI — The mats are set once again at La Scala de Miami as Main Character Jiu Jitsu brings back its high-energy brand of grappling for Halloween Havoc on Sunday, Oct. 19, marking the eighth installment of the promotion’s flagship series.

Founded by black belt and former fighter Kemoy Anderson, Main Character Jiu Jitsu has quickly become one of Florida’s standout independent promotions, blending top-tier competition with the theatrical style of a live show. Anderson’s focus has remained the same since the first event — give athletes of all levels a platform to shine while delivering a production that feels larger than life.

This year’s Halloween Havoc features more than 30 matchups spanning all ages, highlighted by a women’s 3-on-3 team tournament that will see four squads compete in a best-of-three format across three weight divisions. Each team includes athletes at 125, 135, and 145 pounds, and whichever side secures two wins advances to the next round.

Among the teams set to compete are:

  • Team Texas Defenders, with Lauren Sears, Taylor Hishaw and Trinity Pun — a trio of competitors bringing both technical skill and athleticism.

  • Team Fight Sports, featuring Ana Diaz, Lorrayne Souza and Lia Canepa — each known for aggressive, fast-paced no-gi styles.

  • Team Alliance, composed of Laura Sileci, Sophia Nordenö and Nikol Aguirre — three competitors with deep experience in international competition.

  • Team Island Assassins, represented by Emily Nicholson and the Alo sisters, Teshya and Teniya, whose wrestling backgrounds bring an extra edge to the tournament.

The bracket will open with Team Texas Defenders vs. Team Fight Sports and Team Island Assassins vs. Team Alliance, with the winners advancing to a final round that promises high-tempo exchanges and unpredictable outcomes.

Beyond the team format, the event will showcase dozens of single bouts across multiple weight classes, continuing MCJJ’s commitment to variety and storytelling through competition.

This will be the second straight flagship event held at La Scala de Miami, which also hosted MCJJ 7 earlier this year. The Brickell-area venue has become synonymous with the promotion’s atmosphere — intimate, high-energy and tailor-made for the kind of matchups Anderson and his team look to create.

Halloween Havoc will stream live on FloGrappling, and tickets are available now at MCJJTix.com.
