Ohtani’s Historic Night Leads Dodgers to World Series Sweep

Shohei Ohtani delivered one of the greatest postseason performances in recent memory, hitting three home runs and striking out 10 in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 5-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series on Friday night. The victory completed a four-game sweep and sent Los Angeles back to the World Series.

Ohtani wasted no time getting started, blasting a solo home run in the first inning off José Quintana. He followed with another in the fourth and a third in the seventh, finishing 3-for-4 with three RBIs.

On the mound, Ohtani was just as dominant, throwing six shutout innings while allowing only two hits and striking out 10. The Brewers managed their only run in the eighth inning but never threatened to close the gap.

“It’s what he’s capable of,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said, per MLB.com. “There’s no one else like him.”

The three-homer, 10-strikeout performance earned Ohtani NLCS MVP honors and solidified his place in playoff history. The Dodgers now advance to the World Series, while the Brewers’ season comes to an end.

“It’s just about doing my job,” Ohtani told reporters. “The team’s winning is what matters most.”
