Submission Hunter Pro 99 Brings Elite Jiu-Jitsu Showdowns to Dallas on August 23rd

Submission Hunter Pro is back with another stacked card as Submission Hunter Pro 99 takes over Gilley’s Dallas on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025. The event will showcase some of the top grapplers in the country with black belt title bouts and high-stakes NoGi matches across multiple weight classes.

The action kicks off with prelims at 11:00 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. CT, followed by the main card at 1:00 p.m. PT / 3:00 p.m. CT. Fans can catch all the action live on UFC Fight Pass or stream it on YouTube. Tickets are available now at subhunterpro.tv.

Some of the featured matchups include Ravel Ventura vs Rodrigo “Tatu” Lopes for the 175lb black belt masters gi title. Ventura, a former lightweight champ from SHP 91, brings over a decade of experience, while Lopes, co-owner and head coach at North South Jiu Jitsu, makes his mark on the card. Rafael Lang will take on Chancen Bateman in a 200lb black belt NoGi bout. Lang is the founder of Rio Jiu Jitsu and a decorated competitor with multiple Submission Hunter belts and IBJJF golds, while Bateman, originally from Maui, has been active in the Houston, Dallas, and Waco scenes.

Antonio Cicconi faces Tom Schrage in a 165lb black belt gi matchup. Cicconi leads Academy of Champions in Dallas, and Schrage is a multi-time champion out of Genesis Jiu Jitsu in Fort Worth. Michael Lundie, a multiple-time SHP winner representing Checkmate BJJ, will meet Mark France, co-owner of Wolverine Martial Arts in Rowlett, in a 180lb black belt gi match. Another compelling matchup features Henrique Camargo, fresh off a win at SHP 98, against Matheus Araujo in a 170lb black belt gi contest.

Stephen Hall, an 8-time masters world champion and Rio Jiu Jitsu instructor, will battle Henry Chionuma, a 3-time gold medalist from Gracie Barra, at 230lbs in the gi. Joshua Richards, head coach at Satori MMA, goes up against Pablo Almeida in a 220lb black belt NoGi match. Anthony Robinson, a multi-time gold medalist from Progresso Jiu Jitsu Richardson, takes on Marlon Tanaka, making his SHP debut representing North South Jiu Jitsu, in a 195lb gi bout.

Ethan Vistro, an ADCC gold medalist fighting out of Ralph Gracie Georgetown and Kingsway Jiu Jitsu, matches up with Alliance Jiu Jitsu’s Ryan Dickson in a 175lb black belt NoGi scrap. Rounding out the card is Izzy Rodriguez of Machado Jiu Jitsu vs Garrett Scott, a deaf grappler and 4-time world BJJ gold medalist who also holds the distinction of being the first deaf American to earn a black belt in BJJ, in a 175lb blue belt NoGi bout.

With an exciting mix of proven champions and up-and-coming talent, Submission Hunter Pro 99 is set to be one of the biggest jiu-jitsu events of the year.
