Durant, Rockets Dominate Raptors 139–121 Behind Balanced Attack and Rebounding Edge

Kevin Durant scored 31 points, Jabari Smith Jr. added a season-high 25 and the Houston Rockets routed the Toronto Raptors 139-121 on Wednesday night.

Alperen Şengün had 18 points, nine assists and eight rebounds for Houston (2-2), which has won two straight after dropping its first two games. Amen Thompson scored 18 and Tari Eason 14, while Steven Adams posted 12 points and 12 rebounds. The Rockets outrebounded Toronto 53-22, with seven players grabbing at least five boards.

Scottie Barnes led Toronto (1-4) with 31 points and Brandon Ingram added 29. Rookie Collin Murray-Boyles had 13 in his first start, filling in for injured center Jakob Poeltl (sore lower back).

The Raptors hit a season-best 21 of 40 from three-point range but couldn’t contain Houston’s size or pace. The Rockets closed the first half on an 11-0 run and opened the third with a 14-4 burst to take control.

Houston visits Boston on Saturday.
