Only One Way It’s Hitting the Ground – Justice Torres Ready to Shut Down Submission Streak

Coming off a dominant second-round TKO win at Fury FC 105, Justice Torres is riding momentum—and climbing the ranks. After taking out Shane Torres, he’s now the #5 ranked pro featherweight in the U.S. Southwest region, up from #8. At Fury FC 107, he’s set to face Cody Freeman, who enters the bout at 10-6 and has also moved up one spot to #15 in the regional rankings. Freeman was originally set to fight at Fury FC 105 but had to withdraw after his opponent sustained an injury.

Torres has no doubt about what fans can expect when the cage door closes.

“Whenever I step in that cage you can expect me to just come forward looking for the finish and my fight will always be exciting,” he said.

Torres has consistently been a top player in the division and previously held the 145-pound title. As for Freeman’s recent streak—three submission wins—Torres is confident in keeping things off the mat.

“My opponent Cody Freeman, I know that he’s on a three-fight win streak, he’s won all by submission. But my prediction is I’m gonna finish him. I’m not gonna go to the ground with him. Only way it’s getting to the ground is ’cause of him—but I’m not letting that happen.”

A Fury FC veteran, Torres has fought for the promotion since day one and remains loyal to the organization.

“Working with Fury has been amazing. I’ve been with them since my very first amateur fight, all throughout my pro career. Eric’s always taken good care of me so you know I don’t wanna go anywhere else.”

His mission in MMA remains simple but ambitious.

“Overall goal for me in MMA is gonna be one of the greats. I wanna join my teammates that are in the UFC, so the UFC is always gonna be the end goal.”

Fury Fighting Championship 107 will take place on Sunday, August 17th, 2025, and can be viewed on UFC Fight Pass, or in-person at Imagen Venues in Houston, Texas. Get your tickets at https://www.furyfc.tv/tickets/
